Why Sustainable Meat Alternatives are the Future of Eco-Conscious Eating

Freshwater is a valuable resource, and thanks to climate change, disastrous droughts continue to threaten agricultural communities globally. By switching to sustainable, plant-based meats, we can conserve our freshwater resources while increasing our food supply’s sustainability.

Less Land Required to Produce More Food

Studies have shown that if the world were to adopt an entirely plant-based diet, we would reduce global agricultural land use from 4.1 billion hectares to just 1 billion. That is the most extreme example, but the fact remains that over 3 billion hectares of global agricultural space are dedicated to pasture and feed-crops for animals we consume.

The data further shows that regardless of the entire world deciding to “go vegan,” it only takes ¼ of the same acreage to produce the same amount of plant-based protein vs. animal-based protein.

By switching to sustainable meat alternatives, we can tackle greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation that occurs to make room for more pasture land.

Earth Nut BBQ Veggie Burger

This Veggie Burger recipe is the perfect blend of savory and sweet.

Ingredients: 

2Earth Nut Veggie Burgers (We Recommend our Mesquite BBQ Veggie Burger)
2TBS Olive Oil
2TBS BBQ Sauce
2Hamburger Buns
1Thinly Sliced Onion
2Slices of Cheddar Cheese
1TBS Brown Sugar
1TSP Honey

Directions:

  1. Heat Olive Oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  2. Add sliced onions, Salt, Pepper. cook until soft a translucent about 8 mins.
  3. Add Brown Sugar and Honey and cook for another 12 mins until caramelized. Be sure to stir frequently.
  4. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  5. Lightly toast your buns,
  6. Cook 2 Earth Nut Veggie Burgers in a non-stick skillet for about two mins on each side.
  7. Place Earth Nut Veggie Burger onto the bottom of the bun
  8. Put 1 TBS of BBQ sauce on the Earth Nut Patty and add cheese
  9. Place caramelized onions on the top bun
  10. Add your choice of toppings.

Earth Nut Veggie Breakfast Sandwich

Earth Nut Breakfast Muffins will help you start your day out right with a high protein, high fiber breakfast that will have you ready for the most Strenuous of days.

Ingredients:

1Avocado
1/4Cup Scrambled Tofu
1Teaspoon Vegan Mayo for Taste
1English Muffin
1Slice of Tomato
2Leaves of Spinach
1Earthnut Breakfast Sausage Patty

Directions:

  1. Cook the Scrambled Tofu and set aside
  2. Cook your Earth Nut Sausage Patty (cook 2 mins each side stovetop)
  3. Lightly Toast your English muffin
  4. Add Vegan mayo to one side of your Muffin.
  5. On one half of your muffin add 1 scoop of scrambled Tofu and place your Cooked Breakfast Patty on top
  6. Place Sliced Avocado, a slice of tomato, and spinach onto your muffin.
  7. Enjoy!

1Diced Tomato
4Soft Tortillas
1Shredded Red Cabbage
1Diced Avocado
1Diced Onion
1Cup Shredded Cheese

Directions:

  1. Cook 2 Earth Nut Veggie Burgers in a non-stick skillet until heated About 2 minutes on each side,
  2. Crumble your Earth Nut Veggie Burger.
  3. Place Crumbled Earth Nut Veggie Burger into the Tortilla Shell and top with your desired toppings.
  4. Enjoy!

Earth Nut California Veggie Burger

Add Some Guacamole!

This Quick Easy Recipe will save you time without sacrificing on flavor. Earth Nut California Burgers are quick, easy, and packed with flavor.

Ingredients:

2Earth Nut Burgers (We Recommend Hatch Chili Veggie Burger to add some heat)
2Hamburger Buns
Cup of Guacamole
1/2Leaves of Butter Lettuce
2Slices of Gouda Cheese
1Sliced Onion

Directions:

  1. Cook 2 Earth Nut Burgers in a non-stick skillet for about two mins on each side then set aside.
  2. Lightly toast buns face down in the same skillet.
  3. Place your cooked Earth Nut Burger on the bottom bun.
  4. Smear guacamole on the top of your bun.
  5. Add Lettuce, onion, and cheese.

Ingredients:

2 Earth Nut Burgers (We Recommend Original Flavor Veggie Burger)
2 Hamburger Buns
2 Eggs
1/2 1/4 inch Thick-Sliced Onion
2 Slices of Cheddar Cheese

Directions:

  1. Cook 2 Earth Nut Burgers in a non-stick skillet for about two mins on each side then set aside.
  2. Add sliced onions to the same pan and cook until golden brown 2-3 mins on each side. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
  3. Cook eggs in the same skillet until they are no longer runny.
  4. Place Earth Nut Burgers on the 2 bottom buns.
  5. Top with egg, cooked onions, and cheese.
  6. Lightly mash your burger and place back in the pan for 1 min on each side.
